Dr. Dimitre Ranev, MD, CCFP

About

Dr. Dimitre Ranev is the Medical Director at UPGUYS, registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario in the independent practice class since 2012, and certified in family medicine by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He also holds a full practising licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and a medical licence with the Collège des médecins du Québec.

He has practised family medicine since 2010, and much of his clinical work has been in men’s and sexual health. He spent six years as medical director of a sexual health clinic in Quebec, and continues to practise at community medical and fertility clinics.

He has worked in virtual care since 2018 across several national telemedicine platforms, and has served as a provincial medical director for Ontario at a national healthcare provider. He has also worked as an independent medical assessor within a hospital network.

He has been a Faculty Lecturer at McGill University since 2015, and co-hosts the Primary Medicine Podcast, an evidence-based primary care show for physicians that has run since 2015.

He completed his family medicine residency at McMaster University and holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto, along with an honours degree in biochemistry from the University of Ottawa.

At UPGUYS, Dr. Ranev leads the medical team, overseeing clinical protocols, quality of care, and regulatory compliance across the platform. He consults in English and French.
